Hello, I'm Oliver
I manage projects. I'm a parent and an expat living in Brighton, United Kingdom.
A while back, I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually opened a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to United Kingdom wasn't in our long-term plan. Like many expat relocations, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something much larger.
The first few weeks were challenging — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks felt more complicated than they should.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning on the job. But gradually, routines took shape. We found places that fit us, met other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Built QuietShoreMap
Most information online was either corporate relocation advice or surface tourism material. What was missing was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site exists to bridge that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in United Kingdom.
